Rewards for reporting people who steal
our stuff!
We'll reward you with access to some of
our publications if you report to us any individual, business or website
you suspect is using our original photographs, drawings, stories, etc. without
our permission. We pay thousands and thousands of dollars for new and original
material but we can't keep doing it if people steal it from us and then give
it away. We cannot earn a living and continue to create what we do if people
illegally reproduce our material without asking us if they can. We do let
a lot of people use some of our material, but we have restrictions that must
be adhered to before we grant such use.
We realize that a lot of commercial as well as membership sites (like
Yahoo!, Smartgroups, MSgroups, etc.) rely on individuals sharing material
of mutual interest. A lot of the material on these sites is posted without
the copyright owner's permission and that is illegal! Outside of items that
are in the public domain, material belongs to the copyright holder and he
alone can decide how that material can be used.
At times, we ourselves have been guilty of unwittingly putting up items
that we do not have permission to use because these items we received from
our customers and they were not truthful with us as to the source and ownership
of the material. Whenever we do discover such material, we immediately remove
it from our site and will no longer accept material from that particular donor,
plus we may take stronger and even legal action. Yes, people do make mistakes,
and we try to correct any we may have committed as soon as we become aware
of them. When we receive material from our customers, we try our best to
guarantee the material is original and that customer has the right to release
it to us for publication. Plus we usually aren't interested in items that
are freely available elsewhere even if we do have permission to use them.
We want others to respect our rights as we respect theirs.
