Oscar, aka "Alex" was brought up by a mother who liked to dress him in girls' clothes and take photos of him, but she enjoyed him being a boy too and keep his hair short in a boys' haircut and let him be a typical boy instead of aggressively feminizing his actions, and therefore, we see him in his girlie clothes but rolling around on the floor, climbing and doing boy things as well as play with dolls and prance around girlishly in dresses.
